Every Thursday students in Belgium march for the climate. Young people want a future on this planet and want the politicians to take action. Last week about 12,000 students were in the streets of Brussels. This week about 32,000 students gathered from both the North Dutch speaking part of the country and the South French speaking part. Both part of that country can’t agree on much, but it looks like their youth agrees on the need for climate action and preventing economic disaster. One can only hope more will show up next week. Their message is clear: “Act like your life depends on it. because it does.”
In Davos at the World Economic Forum a young Sweetish person named Greta Thunberg said “Adults keep saying we owe it to the young people to give them hope,” said 16-year-old Greta Thunberg at the World Economic Forum. “But I don’t want your hope. … I want you to act as if the house is on fire, because it is.”
