Learn where we stand with the Virginia Clean Economy Act and Solar Freedom Act and what the changes mean to solar customers in our state
It’s hard to believe that summer is almost here, it’s already hot and humid, and the Virginia Clean Economy Act and Solar Freedom Act are about to go into effect in one month. If you’ve been following these bills since January, then you know that it’s been a long and winding road to get to this place. And while these new bills passed by the VA General Assembly go into effect on July 1st, that doesn’t necessarily mean that every provision is suddenly “on,” and that new solar incentives can be utilized right away.
Join us next Wednesday, June 3rd, as we welcome our special guest Susan Stillman, Vice Chair for Renewable Energy at the Sierra Club VA Chapter. We’ll walk through the provisions of the new bills and talk about what they mean to solar customers in VA. New incentives are on the horizon for sure, so we’ll discuss how best to take advantage of what’s coming, and talk about the improvements to the VCEA we’d like to see for next session.
Check out our blog coverage of the 2020 General Assembly and visit our Virginia policy page to get caught up on all the twists and turns that renewable energy legislation went through this session. Then come prepared with questions for Susan!
Register today for New Virginia Solar Policies and Incentives, Wednesday, June 3rd, 12:00 – 12:45pm. The half-hour slide show will be followed by a live Q-and-A session. We’re looking forward to seeing you there!
