Terms of Use

Scope of Work

For a $1,000 deposit ($5,000 for commercial projects), Ipsun Power will perform a Solar Feasibility Study, and provide you with a final design package, sufficient to commence permitting, a final contract, a description of the work to be done, and the materials to be installed. To do this, we will purchase up-to-date satellite images, inspect your roof to assess structural integrity (as needed), and perform a detailed engineering review to provide the optimal system design possible for your property.

Payment Schedule

The Final Contract will follow the below payment schedule: $1,000 deposit ($5,000 for commercial) for the Solar Feasibility Study; 65% of the Project Balance prior to commencement of permitting; 25% of the Project Balance upon completion of construction; 10% of the Project Balance upon successful commissioning and system operation.

Progress

We will keep you up-to-date on our progress as we move forward. We will also actively monitor the system, pass all labor and manufacturer warranties to you, and help you make a claim if needed. The materials and size of the system in the first proposal are subject to change based on our analysis and your preferences. Common factors that impact this include, but are not limited to the following: your electric bill, roof obstacles, and most importantly, accurate measurements of the roof.

Guarantees. All work shall be completed in a quality manner and in compliance with all building and electrical codes, applicable laws, and utility requirements, including appropriate utility interconnection obligations. All work shall be performed by individuals duly licensed and authorized by law to perform said work.

Warranty of Work

Ipsun Power warrants labor and workmanship for a period of 12 years for residential solar energy systems, 5 years for commercial solar energy systems and 1 year for energy storage systems. Workmanship includes roof penetrations, electrical/mechanical work, and conduit attachments. Ipsun Power will assign to Customer all manufacturer warranties on all system components and shall assist Customer in handling any manufacturer’s Warranty claims with the manufacturer during the Labor Warranty Period at no additional cost to the Customer. All warranties are voided if Customer alters or otherwise performs work on the system. A refundable $100 security deposit is required for all warranty claims prior to a site visit. The security deposit will be refunded in the event that warranty claims related to labor and workmanship are confirmed, otherwise time and material rates apply. An estimate for work unrelated to covered labor and workmanship warranty claims will be provided if necessary. Warranties are kept up to date at ipsunsolar.com/warranty. Seller is in no event responsible for the damage created by wildlife, and in no event responsible for damages caused by acts of nature such as hail or winds over 100 mph, including ice damming, fire or flood; animal damage; or impact of foreign objects or traffic on roof. If Customer signs up for a Time-of-Use (TOU) utility rate, Customer is responsible for any additional charges on their utility bill resulting from the change. Internet connectivity must be enabled throughout the coverage term. Full product details will be provided to the Customer separate from this document in their monitoring and limited warranty. In addition to all other obligations and commitments undertaken by Ipsun under this purchase agreement, and regardless of whether otherwise covered herein, for 90 days after commissioning of the Customer’s Solar System Ipsun will make any and all required service calls without charge to ensure that the Solar System is fully functioning.

Cancellation

The deposit will be applied to the total project cost. If for any reason your home is not able to structurally support a solar system, we will refund the deposit. If you otherwise choose not to go forward, we’ll refund 25% of the deposit. Your project price will adjust proportionally based on your original proposal system size. If the system falls below 5 kilowatts (kW), then the price will increase by 20%, or you can choose to have your deposit fully refunded. If you go solar with a Power Purchase Agreement, there will be no down-payment, or any payment required at any time.

Ipsun Solar installed our solar panels, and it was the right decision for many reasons. It was easy to work with the company - from sales to installation and beyond. We have had the panels for some time now, and yet the Ipsun team continues to monitor them to ensure each is working properly. We receive regular reports of the energy generated, and our electric bills have gone down dramatically! The team members are professional, responsive, and caring. We highly recommend Ipsun for their help in making a good decision about a solid investment with a great return and for their ongoing support.

Ipson Solar worked with me and a roofing company to coordinate removal of an older obsolete system, roof preparation, and installation of a new system. All went well and on schedule and I am completely satisfied with the result.

Ipsun was great to work with setting up my Solar array. Most importantly, they've been great about upkeep an maintenance in the years since I've had it installed. They came out to fix some of the wiring when a critter ate through it and repaired the critter guard too.I just wish I had a bigger roof so I could get more kW.

I used Ipsun Solar for my system and batteries. It has been a very difficult process with many delays and mistakes. I would recommend choosing another installer. You are stuck with the installer for the life of the system. Make sure you pick a good one.I signed with them in January 2022 and was sold on the idea of an operational system in 4 months. They said because they were in a co-op they could do things quicker and in a more labor friendly way (B corp). It’s been 10+ months and my system has not operated at 100% (didn’t operate at all for 3.5 months after delayed July installation). There have been many delays and mistakes directly attributable to Ipsun. It seems like the company does not communicate with itself (or it’s customers). They will promise amazing costumer service, but they under deliver. They will promise they have access to batteries and there will be no delays, but then there are equipment and labor delays. They will install your system and forget that it doesn’t work leaving you sitting for months asking for a fix. But, one thing they will do is attempt to collect payment for a system that doesn’t work (over and over and over). They will send workers out to do nothing, or to repeat completed tasks (over and over) because they have not been told a previous worker did it.You’d think a manager would have reached out to me by now. Nope.

After thinking about adding solar to our home, I finally got serious about it last spring. I contacted 5 firms and had a wide range of experience- not all good. IPSUN emerged as my solid choice. Knowledgeable sales rep, flexible, and not high pressure. I was further pleased by their engineering staff and the final solution. And then a very smooth installation day. Plus, this company is a strong advocate for solar energy and climate action. We are so pleased we selected IPSUN.
