We’re looking toward 2023 as the beginning of the most exciting and crucial decade ahead for our work. The historic passage of the Inflation Reduction Act will create well paid jobs, deploy renewable energy faster, and bring down fossil fuel emissions in a meaningful way.
We’re preparing for this shift with urgency (we’re hiring!). We spent 2022 streamlining our processes, building our team, and prepping for the changes that go into effect on January 1, 2023. Read on to learn more!
What is in the Inflation Reduction Act?
The Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), which was signed into law in August 2022, will cut Americans’ energy costs, create good jobs and transform U.S. efforts to address the climate crisis. It is the largest single step that Congress has ever taken to address climate change. The IRA includes nearly $370 billion in investments in disadvantaged communities, prioritizing projects that repurpose retired fossil fuel infrastructure and employ displaced workers, setting the U.S. on a course toward a fair, equitable and economic clean energy transition. In 2022, the Ipsun Fam Grew and Streamlined Processes to Prep for 2023!
In 2022, our hard-working, highly skilled crews installed nearly 300 systems and a total of 2744kW for homeowners in the DMV. Three cheers for Crews #RoofRaiders, #PanelPushers, and #ElectricBarracudas! Rain, snow, searing heat, and freezing cold did not deter these noble crews from their job of fighting climate change one solar panel at a time.
We also love to shout out our amazing #BatteryTeam of top-notch electricians, who are certified for both Tesla Powerwall and Enphase IQ battery systems.
In 2022, we grew our service and maintenance department and we are so proud of our rapid response #NinjaTeam! They’ve been on the spot with so many of you in the Ipsun Fam, helping out and getting your systems running at top production. They are incredible, and we know you love them too, based on the great reviews they get!
Lastly, we have to recognize our incredible Ops and Warehouse team, as well as our Sales Team, project managers, permitting, finance, SREC, and interconnection gurus. All these wonderful people bring a world of expertise and hearts and souls dedicated to great service, quality work, fighting climate change, and making our customers’ lives better every day.
2022 Environmental Benefits by the Numbers
The Ipsun App has 2042 new users for 2022, and shows us the total environmental benefits of all the systems installed this year. The fossil fuel savings is equivalent to 92,206 trees planted, 1203 cars off the road, 1005 homes powered and an amazing 6 million-plus pounds of coal NOT burned! Woohoo, the Ipsun Fam is saving so many fossil fuel emissions — incredible work, team!
