The United Nations compiles reports on Climate Change to gather all the knowledge humanity has on Climate Change. The U.N. doesn’t perform any research themselves, it’s just bringing together researchers, knowledge, and expertise together so that governments and other entities around the world can make informed decisions to act (or not to act).
The IPCC – Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change – is a network of scientists independent of the UN. The IPCC released one more report about the current state of knowledge related to global warming.
What the IPCC report says:
Human activities are estimated to have caused approximately 1.0°C of global warming above pre-industrial levels, with a likely range of 0.8°C to 1.2°C. Global warming is likely to reach 1.5°C between 2030 and 2052 if it continues to increase at the current rate. (high confidence)

The implications of these 2 sentences are alarming. Think about it for a moment. Let this sink in.
CNN reports that “Governments around the world must take “rapid, far-reaching and unprecedented changes in all aspects of society” to avoid disastrous levels of global warming, says a stark new report from the global scientific authority on climate change.”
It’s getting worse! We have deployed a tremendous amount of renewables, and we’ll need exponential growth in order to arrive at decarbonization targets in time.
What can you do?
If you have a political role, a leadership role in a business or other organization, then act. Make a plan to do something about saving your own planet. Everybody has a role to play. If you’re a mother, father, brother or sister, convince the people around you to learn about the IPCC report and come up with solutions. We need solutions to move beyond the costs of fossil fuels at every level of society ranging from the largest governments, business and nonprofits to the smallest units of our society being our families and friends.
